Mister Sparky Wins Pinnacle Award from Houston Better Business Bureau

We are proud to announce that Mister Sparky has received the Pinnacle Award from the Houston Better Business Bureau for 2021.

The Pinnacle Award is the BBB’s highest honor awarded to one company from each category. Receiving this award from our 2020 application is especially meaningful, as this was one of the most challenging years for businesses. 

Every business faced new decisions and weighed the trade-offs of health and economic security. At Mister Sparky, we tried many new things to operate more safely and efficiently. Our employees adapted with grace and enthusiasm. This award really belongs to each person on our team who made 2020 a successful year.

Here is a glance into some of the items discussed in our BBB Awards for Excellence application…


For our customers:

  • We offered new financing plans and contactless appointment options.
  • When demand for home service providers surged as people completed more home projects, we restricted our schedule to prioritize our existing customers.

    An example of just how many home project were going on in 2020… a line to get in to Home Depot!

 

For our team:

  • Our dispatch, customer experience, and administrative staff began working remote. Using an always-on video conference room, we created a virtual office to collaborate and serve customers.
  • After investing in a virtual phone system in 2019, our call center was able to operate from home.
  • Our technicians dispatched from home and attended their training virtually. They wore new protective equipment like masks and gloves, and were cautious to disinfect themselves between customers’ homes and when coming home to their families.

  • We set up relationships with COVID testing centers to send employees at the first sign of symptoms. Our team was empowered to take their health seriously.
  • When scheduling appointments, we screened customers for recent symptoms and scheduled the appointment at a later date when necessary.
  • Rapid communication and transparency were key to giving our team members a sense of security during uncertainty.
  • Our essential workers needed something special to show our appreciation… so our company’s leaders delivered lunch!

 

Since our community has been recovering from COVID-19, we set our 2021 priorities around legendary service and connection:

  1. Improving our operational excellence. It was good (and necessary) to try new things. In 2021, we’ve been making sure that we do those things well and continue to deliver legendary service to our customers.
  2. Connection within our team. We’ve pivoted back to a hybrid work model and even gathered for our annual summer bash!
